I keep coming back to this video and the importance of this mentality put into practice within our current business environments. As we at Alochory work with clients to expand their reach and market influence, we see continual reinforcement that the businesses that prosper for sustained periods of time are the ones that have a sense of community within the company as well as the surrounding environment. These companies follow Ulukaya's "Anti-CEO Playbook"
It is very easy to spot the business that is stuck in the legacy CEO model. These companies are set up to benefit the owner/CEO, a small group at the top, sometimes the shareholders, sometimes even the shareholders are forsaken! These companies don't value the customer as anything beyond a revenue source. Employees are usually an instrument to be utilized and the rest of the world is either in the way or irrelevant. Some of these companies have significant short-term success, but almost always succumb to a toxic culture that weighs down longer-term progress.
By contrast, the business that has a strong sense of community and true concern for all stakeholders is incredibly easy to position for social media success. The concept of paying it forward is readily demonstrated and incorporated into all social selling and media outlets. The employees are happy and eager to take it to social media, the clients are ready to like and extend the message as well.
I have found that, by helping position these types of businesses properly to the outside world, we see rapid viral spread and make the world better. As for the other types of companies, well, we try to avoid them like the plague and so should you!
